Calibration is the key to accuracy with your suunto core.
As you sit at your computer reading this, the air pressure above you is changing but you’re unlikely gaining altitude. More likely, the air over you is physically changing. Because the density of air fluctuates with the weather, With the Suunto Core you need to calibrate and recalibrate your altimeter and barometer to ensure most accurate readings. Calibration isn’t difficult. With a suunto Core you only have to enter one reference: the barometric pressure for your area or the elevation. Information on the current sea level pressure can also be found through newspapers, local news and radio weather reports, or the local airport facilities. If you’re near a computer, you can find the current barometric pressure for your area on a weather website. Alternatively, if you know your current elevation, you can enter that. A barometer keeps its calibration, as the device is always recording changes in air pressure.
