What Exactly is a Hybrid
A hybrid car is exactly what it sounds like: a car that uses two or more different distinct power sources for energy and propulsion. Most often, “hybrid” refers to a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) that uses a traditional internal combustion engine and one of more electric motors.
To specialize further, electric can be broken down into on-board or out-board rechargeable energy storage systems (RESS) or hydrogen-powered battery systems. Some hybrids are being designed to take advantage of other environmentally friendly energy sources like win, natural gas, or the sun.
While not as friendly on the enviroenment,m tecahnically, hybrids powerred with sources like grease, coal, and wood still are given the moniker “hybrid,” though they defy the current spirit of hybrid development.
