Philips wake up light – dawn simulators
If you’re like me, you find that waking up to the blast of a traditional alarm is not the best way to start your day, it makes me miserable for the first few hours!
I found a dawn simulator alarm clock will gradually increase the illumination to stimulate a chemical switch in your brain that wakes you from sleep smoothly and naturally. The Philips wake up light does just that (link goes to a detailed review) so I just bought one.
You set the time you want to wake up, and the wake up light steadily increases the illumination of it’s 100W lamp for 30 minutes up to your alarm time. Then, as an added incentive to get up, it will fade-in sounds from either the radio, a beeper, birdsong, frog calls, or ocean waves.
After a week of using it, my girlfriend says I’m so much less of a grumpy old grizzly bear in the morning. I guess it’s working for me, then.
