Typical fireplace mantles suffer from lack of room syndrome. They always become cluttered because they are a popular place to display things like candles, a mantle clock, photos of loved ones, and other decorative ornaments. One way of cleaning up this clutter is to purchase a special mantle clock. I’ve seen clocks that have a swing set of fron doors revealing the clock. On the inside of this door you could put some photos. The top of the clock has a flat tray like section that will support anything. Put a few candles up there and you’ve just hit 3 birds with one stone. The rest of the mantle can now be used for more decorative goods that you like.
