Backyard Tent Fun
One of my favorite things is to go in the backyard with my boys and pitch a tent. They absolutely love it. They treat it like their secret fort. They go in with containers of frogs and other exotic wildlife, ask their mom if she would like to take a nap and then surprise her with all of their exotic findings. It’s a great way to spend a family fun night as well. Instead of seeing a movie or going out to dinner I’ll grill something and then we play board games and swap, "scarry stories" as my 4 year old likes to say. It is a little challenging getting them to settle down and go to sleep, but they talk about it constantly over the next week. It has also been great for sleepovers. Instead of wrecking the house they just make a mess inside the tent. It is a lot easier to clean up then chasing a million toys all over the house. The important thing to remember is to properly stake the tent. When you have a bunch of boys roughhousing it is easier for things to start slipping and sliding.
