What to Avoid in an Above Ground Pool Deck
Make sure when building above ground pool decks that you choose a wood that does not require a lot of maintenance, does well in the sun, and looks the same in years to come.
One wood that does not “take care of itself” so to speak is Douglas fir. With Douglas fir, you have to keep it painted constantly. Always think about what the wood will cost going by the size of your above ground pool deck. Also, take into consideration the labor the installer will be charging to install the wood. Most importantly before you have, the deck installed decide what shape of deck you want. The two most common shapes are the wrap around deck and the smaller half deck.
