One of the hardest things I had to adjust to, besides the pain of course, after my auto accident, was the fact that I became much more constipated due to medications and lack of exercise. I began to research ways to manage constipation and how to clean your intestines. I had gained about 30 pounds over the few years after the accident because I wasn’t able to walk or exercise. And that meant that I wasn’t able to keep the intestinal activity up as it should be. One of the things I did try to do was to make sure I was drinking plenty of water, so that at least I was maintaining the moisture in my intestines and stool.
