What Color is a Sparkling Wine?

When you hear the words sparkling wines, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Perhaps an image of someone sipping champagne comes to mind. Maybe you start parading different bottles of champagne in your mind. Whatever it is, one thing is certain. You believe that the term sparkling wine describes champagne. While that is correct, it’s not entirely true. There are red, yellow, and pink wines that are sparklers, too. The term sparkling wine applies to wine where the concentration of carbon dioxide is high; thus, the wine exudes a bubbly appearance when poured. These bubbles are the ones that cause the wine to sparkle. Hence, it doesn’t matter what color the wine is. As long as it’s bubbly, then you have a sparkler in your glass.
