I saw a wedding magician last week at my fathers 50th birthday and he perfomed a coin trick that has had me scratching my head for days. I put a pound coin in one of my closed fists and he told me four times in a row which hand it was in. He even put £20 down if he got it wrong, but he didn’t. It was hugely entertaining and had everyone involved in trying to help me make my choice. Each time I went my own way but failed. If you ever get to see this guy he is just brilliantly entertaining and definitely a great way to add a special touch to a wedding.

Every summer, I would always look for activities for my kids so that they could maximize their vacation and learn something new. This summer I enrolled them in Acting Classes in San Diego for them to develop self confidence. They did not only learned acting, stage presence and self confidence but they also learned the value of cooperation and team work. They also developed their public speaking skills. Along the way, they also developed friends with the same interest. I would definitely recommend acting classes for summer activity.

Patricia has been introducing me to a lot of new bands lately. I guess I’d kind of gotten stuck in a rut before I met her. I must admit that I’m enjoying some of the new music though. The style is different, but the energy is a lot like it was back in the 70s (my era).

There are certain songs that I hear and I just can’t help but think of her. I wish we lived a little closer to each other. This driving 150 miles to see her on the weekends and then not seeing her all week is a little daunting. The music makes it a little better though for some reason. I hear a song. I think of her. I feel better.

Silly at my age.

When we started to look for a place to hold our wedding we could not find anything that seemed to be what we wanted.  After looking at about a dozen sites it suddenly dawned on me that no place was as nice as the home and garden that I grew up in. We were able to reserve a tent for the back garden and the caterer promised that there would be no problem. Carrie and I are making preparations for the craft fair up in Arlen. It seems like we’re always rushing at the last minute, so this year we started a lot earlier and set an actual schedule so we could keep ahead of things.

I’m going to take my camera along and do some video podcasts from the fair. There are always so many cool vendors and booths and items that we want to learn to make, but then we get home and we can’t remember half of them. This time around I’ll get as much as I can on video. Always really nice people too. crafters are cool!

My father was totally shocked to learn that our father passed away in his sleep.  This was completely unexpected.  He was in great health and only 64 years old.  We figured we would have him for many more years.  We all enjoyed his company and depended on his strength.  He was a successful realtor and built a pretty good estate that would provide for my mom.  Dad was always prepared for anything.  He figured his estate would go to probate so he had retained a New York probate attorney that would take care of distribute his many assets.  It was a relief to hear this news, since none of us is capable of handling this.
