Restructuring Can Be The Best Thing For You

When employees hear the dreaded word “restructuring”, they usually think of massive layoffs and a lot of work for the people left behind.  But it doesn’t have to be that way.

For instance, when my employers restructured the company, over one quarter of the employees were let go.  But, because we were offered career transition counseling and assistance, all of them found new jobs.

Those of us who stayed were retrained and the company is running more profitably with fewer employees.  It’s been good for us, since we’ve learned valuable new skills and have actually gotten raises. 

Restructuring can be the best thing that ever happened to you, if it’s handled well.
