The Enduring Appeal of Blues Guitar
My mother used to play blues and jazz at night and many times the last sound I heard before I went to bed was the exotic, mellow notes from one of her record collections. I would listen carefully for the sound of the blues guitar, which was my favorite instrument. As the years went by I inherited Mom’s records and collected my own. Relaxing with those smooth sounds became my favorite thing to do at the end of a long, hard day. Now my daughter is a fan of blues, but she has a CD collection. Every time we drive somewhere together she pops a tune in the CD player and I am reminded of how enduring the sound of blues really is.
