80’s Hits - Top 40’s Six through Ten for 1984
During 1984, the year that the MTV Music Awards began, we experienced some awesome tunes on the Top 40 pop charts, including songs six through ten. Starting at number six off their “1984” album release, Van Halen took the honors with “Jump”. We were greeted at the number seven spot by Lionel Ritchie, for his release of “Hello”.
The 80’s hits just kept on coming with a band nobody could say no to. The group Yes took spot number eight with their hit song “Owner of a Lonely Heart”. I am not afraid to say that Ray Parker Jr came in nicely for the ninth position on 1984’s Top 40 charts with his song “Ghostbusters”. Rounding out the number ten song on the charts for 1984 was “Karma Chameleon” by the Culture Club.
